Easy Bunny Shaped Pretzels

I love making cute treats, especially for holidays like Easter. These fun bunny pretzels are perfect when you want something festive but simple. They also do not have a traditional recipe with exact measurements, which I love. You can make just a few or fill an entire tray, depending on how many you need.

Easy no-bake treats like this are some of my favorite things to make with kids. They are simple to assemble and everyone can help build the bunny faces. Treats like these and my Nutter Butter Chicks always bring a playful feel to the Easter table. Bunnies are such a classic Easter character, which is why I  love making fun bunny desserts like my Bunny Cheese Ball and Bunny Butt Truffles.

Ingredients

  • Pretzel Snaps (square pretzels) – These form the base of the treat and give the bunny its shape along with a salty crunch.
  • White Candy Melts – Holds the bunny ears and face in place.
  • Easter M&Ms – These become the bunny’s head and ears.

How to Make Easter Pretzel Treats

  1. Prep – Preheat the oven to 200°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the M&Ms – Separate the M&Ms by color. Cut half of them in half with a sharp knife. You will need 2 M&Ms per bunny, 1 whole for the face and 1 cut in half for the ears.
  3. Arrange the pretzels – Place the pretzel snaps on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Add the candy melts – Place one white candy melt on each pretzel with the flat side down.
  5. Bake – Bake for 3 to 5 minutes or until the candy melts soften.
  6. Add the bunny face – Remove the tray from the oven and immediately press one whole M&M into the bottom half of the candy melt. Press the two M&M halves above it, cut side down, to form the bunny ears.
  7. Let them set – Allow the pretzels to cool and set directly on the baking sheet until the candy hardens.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Use different colored candy melts – White creates a classic bunny look, but pastel candy melts can make the treats even more colorful for Easter.
  • Pipe white chocolate instead of candy melts – If you do not have round candy melts, pipe melted white chocolate onto each pretzel in a small circle before adding the M&Ms.
  • Add facial details – Use an edible marker to draw on small eyes and a nose after the candy has set if you want to give the bunnies extra personality.

Tips for Success

  • Cut the M&Ms carefully – Use a sharp knife and press down gently so the candy shell does not crack too much when cutting them in half.
  • Separate colors first – Sorting the M&Ms before you start makes assembling the bunnies much faster.
  • Work quickly after baking – The candy melts will begin to firm up as they cool, so press the M&Ms into place right after removing the tray from the oven.
  • Work in batches if needed – If you are assembling a lot of these or working alone, bake a few pretzels at a time so the candy melts do not harden before you can attach the M&Ms.
  • Do not overheat the candy melts – They only need a few minutes in the oven to soften. Overheating can cause the chocolate to seize and become thick or grainy.

Notes

  • Store the bunny pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Keep them in a cool, dry place so the candy melts stay firm.
