Ingredients

  • 2 (12.4 ounces) packages of refrigerated cinnamon rolls (8 counts each)
  • 1 (21-ounce) can apple pie filling

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Open cinnamon rolls and set icing aside. Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters.
  • Open apple pie filling and cut apple slices into smaller chunks. I do this directly in the can.
  • Arrange the cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • Spoon apple pie filling over the cinnamon rolls. It’s fine if not every piece is covered.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are golden and cooked through.
  • If the rolls start to brown too quickly, cover loosely with foil and continue baking.
  • Remove from oven and drizzle with reserved icing while the casserole is still warm. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Store any leftover casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave for about 20 to 30 seconds until warmed through.
  • The casserole can also be frozen for up to 2 months. Wrap the casserole dish in plastic wrap and then foil, or transfer it to a freezer-safe container for storage. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and warm in the oven or microwave before serving.
